Grant Summary and Timeline:  The Central Plains Area Agency on Aging (CPAAA) has been receiving Older Americans Act Federal funding for 35 years. The Kansas Department on Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) requires all Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) to submit an Area Plan that outlines what the community needs are and how federal funds for the planning and service area will be expended. The Central Plains Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council approved the Area Plan on May 20, 2015, the Harvey County Board of County Commissioners and Butler County Board of County Commissioners have reviewed the plan and authorized the Sedgwick County Chairman to sign the Area Plan. The update for the FY 2015 to 2017 Area Plan covers the period of October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016. The Area Plan will fund the following programs in FY 2016:

OAA III Administration - $93,377 (The  OAA administration funds are taken out of the C1 & IIIE funds and are not additonal funds).

There are numerous federal and state law requirements imposed upon Area Agencies on Aging, including CPAAA and filing the annual Area Plan.  The primary applicable state law is the Kansas Senior Care Act at K.S.A. 75-5926 et seq.  This grant application requires approval of the Board of County Commissioners. Approval is by simple majority vote.
