Renewal of the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) Nutrition Services Agreement.

Recommended Action: Approve the 2016 Program Agreement Addendum, and authorize the Chairman to sign.
By meeting the requirements for calories, meat/meat alternatives, fruits, vegetables and whole grains, the Sedgwick County Department of Corrections is able to claim monthly meal reimbursements from the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) through the Nutrition Services Agreement. Reimbursements are collected for breakfast and lunch meals and also school day snacks for residents at the Juvenile Detention Facility and Juvenile Residential Facility.
Alternatives: If the agreement is not signed, we will not continue to receive these revenues.
Financial Considerations: Approval of this agreement will generate estimated revenues of $200,000 throughout the next fiscal year.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101. A simple majority vote is required.
