Title
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE SALE OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY SEDGWICK COUNTY, KANSAS.
Presented by: Steve Claassen, Director,  Facilities, Fleet & Parks.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt the Resolution.
Body
In 2010 Sedgwick County acquired 1,035 acres of unimproved property in NE Sedgwick County for purposes of establishing Northeast Sedgwick County Park.  Later that year, the borders of the park were established utilizing 645 acres of that total.  The County has no plans for the remaining 380 except for a need to retain 20 of those acres for use as an emergency storm debris burn site.
The recommended action authorizes the sale at auction of 360 acres identified in the attached map.  The 20 acre emergency burn site is also identified on the attached map.
Alternatives: The County could elect to retain the surplus property.
Financial Considerations: Proceeds of the sale will be deposited in the County General Fund.
Legal Considerations: The BoCC is authorized to sell and convey real estate held by the County under K.S.A. 19-101 third; 19-211(b) and County Res. No. 119-204.
