Title
Agreement between Sedgwick County and Ignition Holdings, L. L. C. for Controlled Access to Certain Roadways.

Body
Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.

This request is for June 23-24, 2015, for controlled access to certain portions of County roadways for the purpose of conducting the URAA Torch Run.  Said roadways are set forth on maps shown on Attachment A and B to the agreement.  For purposes of this agreement, 'controlled access' is defined as the non-exclusive use of public roadways to the extent that the use does not conflict with public safety as determined by the Sedgwick County Sheriff.  Ignition Holdings agrees to coordinate with the Sheriff's Office with regard to traffic control.

Financial Considerations:  None

Legal Considerations:  K.S.A. 19-212 vests the Board of County Commissioners with broad powers in conducting the business of the county at a meeting.  The county's general police powers allow protection of the public health, safety, and general welfare of the public.  This agreement is similar to prior controlled access agreements.  A Certificate of Insurance, approved by the Office of the County Counselor, is required and has been provided pursuant to Section 4 of the agreement.

Policy Considerations:  None
