Recommended Action: Approve payment of the settement of claim.
Background: In 2012, the County received a Worker's Compensation Claim with a date of accident of August 3, 2012.
Analysis: The parties have arrived at a settlement of the claim in the amount of $135,000 plus future medical treatment costs.
Alternatives: N/A
Financial Considerations: Payment for the claim will be made through the County's Risk Management Reserve. Sufficient budget authority exists with the 2015 Risk Management budget to fund the claim.
Legal Considerations: Settlement of the claim will bring a final resolution of the matter without further legal proceedings or expense. Approval requires only a simply majority. This resolution is not subject to protest.
