Title
Renewal Agreement with the City of Derby to administer Special Liquor Tax Funds.

Body
Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign the agreement.

Background: In 2013, COMCARE began providing Special Liquor Tax Fund administration services to the City of Derby similar to the services provided to the City of Wichita during the preceding 13 years. Services included working with vendors to monitor and refine outcome-based performance measures, developing and executing contracts with vendors and performing the financial management duties associated with the fund. The proposed renewal agreement is substantially the same as the prior year's agreement with no significant changes.

Alternatives: Should this agreement not be approved, COMCARE will lose the additional revenue earned through this contract. Additionally, the City of Derby will have to find an alternate vendor to provide these services that may or may not have the experience and expertise that COMCARE offers in these areas.

Financial Considerations: The total payment will be $20,000.00. Of this total amount $4,500 is the administrative fee for COMCARE, and $15,000 will be available for allocation to the vendor for service provision.
Fund Center: 31061-252

Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101, and a simple majority vote is required.

Policy Considerations: All Sedgwick County policies have been followed in the development of this renewal agreement.
