Recommended Action: Approve the notice of intent to terminate lease and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The City of Wichita and Sedgwick County entered into a lease for certain portions of the property located at 2625 S. Tyler Road on December 20, 1995. Sedgwick County wishes to terminate this lease and move services provided by Environmental Resources to 1144 S. Seneca. The lease provides for either party to terminate the lease upon 90 days written notice to the other party. The effective date of the termination is June 3, 2015.
Alternatives: The BoCC could choose not to approve this lease termination, in which case Environmental Resources would either remain at the current location.
Financial Considerations: Total annual lease cost is $18,168 or $5.34 per square foot.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101, et seq. A simple majority vote is required.
