Recommended Action:  Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
 
Background: From Legistar Item 14-1765: On June 30th, KDOT announced the Kansas Local Bridge Improvement Program (KLBIP).  The program is targeted to accelerate replacement of certain bridges that are owned and maintained by counties in Kansas.  A project is eligible for a maximum of $120,000 in state funds and counties are required to provide at least a 10% match.  Counties that are willing and able to close another bridge on their system were eligible for an additional $40,000.  The state allocated $10,000,000 for the program and applications were due by September 15th.

Financial Considerations: Cost: $250,000.00      Cost Center: 21535-231      GL Acct: 46203      KDOT will reimburse County $120,000.00
Sufficient expenditure authority exists in the cost center to fund the recommended action.
Legal Considerations: The County is authorized to enter into contracts with the Secretary of Transportation to participate in the benefits of federal aid funds under K.S.A. 68-402b.
