Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
This is a standard agreement that serves to affiliate providers of Intellectual and Developmental Disability (ID/DD) services in Sedgwick County with the Sedgwick County Developmental Disability Organization (SCDDO). Affiliated organizations are licensed through the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) and have met SCDDO standards. The SCDDO contracts with KDADS to function as the official Community Developmental Disability Organization (CDDO) for Sedgwick County and is responsible to ensure quality services are available for eligible individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Rudy Ranch House is a limited license provider of residential service. The agreement provides Rudy Ranch House with both the ability to bill the Medicaid system directly and to receive payment from Sedgwick County for services that are provided to one eligible individual from April 1, 2014 through August 31, 2014.
Alternatives: The SCDDO is required to contract with qualified service providers that have been selected by an individual who is eligible to receive intellectual and developmental disability services. Rudy Ranch House has been selected as the preferred provider for at least one individual.
Financial Considerations: This provider may receive payments directly from Sedgwick County and/or bill Medicaid directly for services provided. Since the ID/DD service system works on a reimbursement basis, funding will not be paid to providers until after the service has been provided and verified.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 39-1805. This agreement has been reviewed by the Sedgwick County Counselor's Office. Approval is by simple majority vote.
