The City of Wichita and Sedgwick County have recently collaborated on establishing a new joint law enforcement training facility located on the Innovation Campus of Wichita State University which opened January 2018. Both the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County would like to recognize former Sheriff Mike Hill and former Chief of Police Richard LaMunyon for their contributions to law enforcement and their extensive efforts to establish the joint law enforcement training center.
Alternatives: Deny the Resolution.
Financial Considerations: None anticipated as a result of this action.
Legal Considerations: This action is authorized by K.S.A. 19-101. A simple majority vote is required.
