EIGHT VENDOR AGREEMENTS TO PROVIDE SPECIALIZED TRANSPORTATION.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the agreements and authorize the Chairman to sign.

These agreements with eight local providers are to provide for door-to-door accessible transportation. Services are provided to transit dependent individuals to access medical appointments, social services and work in order to remain independent and in the community. These are renewals and the first agreements were initiated by the County in 1998. A total of 24,488 trips were provided in 2010.
Alternatives: Deny the request.
Financial Considerations: Federal, state and mill levy dollars support this specialized transportation.

Legal Considerations: Authority to enter into the contracts is provided for by K.S.A. 19-101. Approval is by simple majority vote.
