Recommended Action:Approve the agreement, and authorize the Chairman to sign.
Sedgwick County EMS and the City of Derby have had an agreement that stipulates that Sedgwick County EMS will provide advanced life support service and patient transportation within the City of Derby since 1991, and subsequently amended this agreement in 2005 (4288-6). In addition to the service agreement, we have an agreement with regards to the facility located at 1401 N. Rock Road, Derby, which will come to term on August 14, 2012 (4707-7). This new agreement unifies the existing agreements for an initial term of five (5) years and automatically extends for successive five (5) years, thereafter unless terminated by either party. This agreement was presented to the Derby City Council on February 7, 2012, and was unanimously approved.

Financial Considerations: Sedgwick County EMS will be responsible for 12% of the overall monthly utility costs for this facility beginning September 2012 (For 2012 this will be an additional $200 per month in 12017-203).
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 65-6101, et seq. A simple majority vote is required.
