The Primary Election on August 7, 2012 is expected to see a large turnout of voters. This election will continue to apply the new Kansas Voter ID Law (SAFE Act) that requires every voter to present a photo ID when voting. Additionally, voters will be experiencing a new check-in method using an electronic poll books. The Election Office continues to offer convenient options for voters to cast their votes early either by mail or in-person at one of 16 locations. Several strategies continue to be employed to help with the Primary Election including: large banners advertising "VOTE HERE NOW" at every advanced voting site and distributing 1,500 election flyers to city hall, neighborhood and senior centers in the city of Wichita, and an increased number of voting machines at the 62 sites on election day. The Elections Office continues to be prepared to handle voters for this Primary Election.
