Title
Agreement with the City of Wichita for COMCARE to provide administrative services for the Special Liquor Tax Funds.
Body
Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
Background: Since 2000, the City of Wichita has contracted with COMCARE to provide administrative services for their Special Liquor Tax funds, and COMCARE has been selected as the vendor again in 2013. The services include monitoring and refining outcome-based measurements, providing financial oversight, organizing provider training, supporting the Special Liquor Tax Coalition, and assisting in the development of Request for Proposals (RFP). COMCARE Administrative staff partner with COMCARE's Addiction Treatment Services staff to provide their expertise for the City and the 19 programs selected to receive a Special Liquor Tax grant.
This contract is for one year, and includes four successive one year options to renew. The City of Wichita pays COMCARE $94,276.00 in twelve equal monthly installments for the services provided. The total amount of the contract is slightly less than it was in the last cycle because of COMCARE's efforts to streamline job duties related to the project.
Alternatives: Should this contract not be approved, COMCARE will lose $94,276.00 in annual funding, and the City of Wichita will be forced to locate an alternate vendor to provide these services.
