Recommended Action: Approve the renewal agreements and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The Commissioner of the Kansas Juvenile Justice Authority enters into annual provider agreements with Sedgwick County for services provided by the Juvenile Detention Facility (JDF), Juvenile Residential Facility (JRF), Judge Riddel Boys Ranch (JRBR) and the Sedgwick County Youth Program (SCYP).
Alternatives: Provider agreements are required in order to serve juvenile justice youth in the State of Kansas and be compensated for those services.
Financial Considerations: Reimbursement funds are contained in 33004-110 (JRBR), 33016-110 (JDF), 33017-110 (JRF) and 33024-253 (SCYP)
The attached agreements contain provisions for pay rates for the individual programs. For JDF, the pay rate is $120. For JRBR, the pay rate is $126. For JRF, the pay rate is $115. For SCYP, the pay rate is $126.
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101, et seq. A simple majority vote is required.
Policy Considerations: JDF is a mandatory program. A provider agreement is required in order to be compensated for youth in State custody. The remaining three programs are discretionary. Provider agreements are required to continue providing services at JRF, JRBR and SCYP.
