RECOMMENDED ACTION: Find that the proposed permit application is consistent with the Sedgwick County Solid Waste Management Plan, and authorize the Chairman to sign.

KDHE requires that the BOCC find that state solid waste permit applications are consistent with local Solid Waste Plans. Big State Tire & Axle is required by KDHE to submit an application for a Waste Tire Processing permit located at 5929 N Broadway, Park City, Kansas. The SC Solid Waste Management Committee reviewed this application at their meeting on April 2, 2012 and found that it is consistent with the Sedgwick County Solid Waste Management Plan. Park City approved the zoning for this site on February 2, 2012.

Financial Considerations: Approving the permit does not have a financial impact on Sedgwick County.
Legal Considerations: K.S.A. 2010 Supp. 65-3407(m)(1) requires applications for KDHE solid waste permits be certified by the county commission that the application is consistent with the local solid waste management plan.
