Recommended Action: Set the public hearing for June 13, 2018, and direct the County Clerk to publish notice of the public hearing once in the official County newspaper.
Background: K.S.A. 65-3405(d)(3) requires the Board of County Commissioners to hold a public hearing regarding the five-year review of the Sedgwick County Solid Waste Management Plan, including a review of projected solid waste management practices and needs for the next ten-year planning period. The notice of hearing must be published once in the official County newspaper between at least fifteen but no more than thirty days prior to the date of hearing.
Analysis: The purpose of this item is to set the hearing date and publication of the hearing.

Financial Considerations: Cost for publication in the Derby Informer. No additional budget authority is being requested, sufficient budget authority exists in the 2018 budget.
