A Resolution Authorizing The Transfer And Use Of Moneys From The Register Of Deeds Technology Fund Pursuant To K.S.A. 28-115a.

Recommended Action: Adopt the resolution.
In accordance with K.S.A. 28-115a, the Register of Deeds has determined that the balance in the Register of Deeds Technology Fund at the end of the 2017 calendar year is greater than $50,000.00, and that $200,000.00 is not needed by the Register of Deeds office for technology purposes. K.S.A. 28-115a thereby provides the Board with the authority to transfer those funds from the Register of Deeds Technology Fund to a County fund to be used by other County offices for equipment or technological services relating to the land or property records filed or maintained by the County.
Alternatives: Do not adopt the resolution.
Financial Considerations: Funds will be transferred through an interfund transfer from the Register of Deeds Land Technology Fund, 65001-236, to the Land Technology Enhancement Fund, 77001-237.
Legal Considerations: Transfer of funds and restrictions thereon are governed by K.S.A. 2010 Supp. 28-115a.
