Visioneering Wichita funding for 2010 for $50,000. This item is included in the Sedgwick County 2010 budget. Visioneering Wichita was launched in 2004 as the region's first long-range planning process. Throughout the process more than 17,000 people provided input in to long-term goals and benchmarks focused on jobs and economic prosperity, as well as recruitment and retention of people. At tha time the region was lagging behind other peer regions in specific benchmarks such as per-capita personal income and job growth and citizens desired a plan to guide our area to future prosperity. Sedgwick County was a founder and has helped support Visioneering Wichita as being a Vision Partner and financial supporter since the beginning. It now has more than 500+ organizations that are committed as vision partners to carry forward the vision plan and more than 300 volunteers actively working on initiatives included in the plan.
