Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
Background: Dr. Katherine Girrens will provide on-call and weekend psychiatry services for COMCARE. As a psychiatrist, Dr. Girrens will provide medication assessments and medication monitoring services for COMCARE clients, particularly clients receiving inpatient services at Via Christi Good Shepherd over the weekend, holidays, and after-hours. This agreement outlines the conditions regarding her employment.
Alternatives: Medical services are a critical component of mental health services and Dr. Girrens will ensure that COMCARE clients receive the appropriate medical care during weekends and holidays.
Financial Considerations:
Cost: $155,000.00 annual salary plus benefits
Funding Source: 310729-13 COMCARE Inpatient Services
Term: 02/01/13- 01/31/14 (automatically renews thereafter unless terminated)
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101. A simple majority vote is required.
Policy Considerations: All Sedgwick County policies have been followed in the development of this employment agreement.
