Recommended Action: Approve the amendment to the Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
This CIP project has been approved in the 2019 CIP; however, to get this design process underway immediately budget authority is needed for any expenditures this year. It is expected that $100,000 should be sufficient to cover architectural and engineering fees completed this year. This will not require funding but will be reimbursed by bond funds in 2019.
Alternatives: Not approve and the project would wait until 2019 to start the design process.
Financial Considerations: A new project fund center would be created and budget authority of $100,000 established in 2018. Expenses would be reimbursed through a bond sale anticipated in late 2019, after the project is completed and specific costs are known.

Policy Considerations: Per the County’s CIP policy, this amendment had unanimous support from the CIP Committee.
