DONATION TO THE SEDGWICK COUNTY DEPARTMENT ON AGING RETIRED SENIORS VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (RSVP).

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Accept the donation, and authorize the Chairman to sign a letter of appreciation.

The Wichita Sports Commission in appreciation for the work of RSVP Volunteers in support of the Prairie Fire Marathon has donated $500.00 to the Sedgwick County Department on Aging RSVP Volunteer Program. RSVP volunteers helped to prepare approximately 5,000 information packets which were distributed at the marathon held on October 14, 2012. This donation will be used to support the program and the recognition events that acknowledge the valuable work of the volunteers.

Financial Considerations: The amount of the donation is $500.00 and would be deposited into cost center 34053-254/340535-12.
Legal Considerations: The authority to accept the donation is granted by K.S.A. 19-101. Approval is by simple majority vote.
