VISIONEERING WICHITA 2013 FUNDING.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the payment to Visioneering Wichita.

Visioneering Wichita was launched in 2004 as the region's citizen-led long-range planning plan. Throughout the years more than 17,000 people have actively volunteered on strategies within the document to improve job growth and per capita income, as well as recruitment and retention of people. At the time, the region was lagging behind other peer regions in specific benchmarks such as per-capita personal income and job growth, and citizens desired a plan to guide our area to future prosperity. Sedgwick County is a founder and has helped supported Visioneering Wichita as being a Vision Partner and financial supporter since the beginning. Visioneering just completed the Priority Project process as commissioned by Sedgwick County and the City of Wichita whereas three community priorities have been identified to be completed in three years-starting now.

Financial Considerations: Visioneering Wichita funding was budgeted at $40,000 in the Sedgwick County 2013 adopted budget to be paid from 48001-110.
