Recommended Action: Approve the addition to the staffing table as requested.
Background: In 2012, the County Clerk's Office developed a plan, in cooperation with the Register of Deeds, to scan the existing land transfer books, enter each individual transfer into a database, and create a publicly searchable electronic catalog. To facilitate the completion of this project, the Clerk has requested an addition to the County Clerk's staffing table of one (1) .5 FTE (part-time) position in the County Clerk's Technology Fund.

Financial Considerations: The funds requested within this budget authorization item come from the Clerk's Technology Fund. The revenue from this fund comes from a technology fee charged on all documents filed with the Register of Deeds and is targeted to support the technology needs of the office.

Legal Considerations: Complies with the Kansas Cash Basis Law (K.S.A. 10-1112 & -1113).
