Title
Amendment to Existing 911 Radio Tower Lease (Goddard Site).

Body
Recommended Action: Approve this amendment to the existing lease and authorize the Chairman to sign the documents.

The digital 9-1-1 radio system hinges on the proper siting of the ten (10) radio towers. This specific location is necessary to complete the coverage network for optimal radio communications between 9-1-1 dispatchers and first responders in the field.

Alternatives: Deny the request. A denial will result in the halting of the digital radio system project.

Financial Considerations:  $4,037.71 per month/ $48,452.52 per year (this is an increase of $1,950.00 per month from our existing lease agreement of $2,087.71 per month).  This lease is scheduled to expire on July 30, 2020.  There are provisions for three (3) additional five (5) year terms which will automatically renew.  Funding to cover the costs of the lease will come from 9-1-1 tax revenues.

Legal Considerations:  The terms and provisions of this tower lease amendment have been negotiated between counsel and incorporate FCC Rules and Regulations, including priority and Public Safety Interference Regulation and Proceedings. Approval is by simple majority vote.

Policy Considerations: N/A
