A RESOLUTION NOTIFYING THE CITY OF WICHITA TO ANNEX PORTIONS OF CERTAIN HIGHWAYS.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the resolution and authorize the Chairman to sign.
Body
The City of Wichita has annexed property abutting portions of Pawnee, Webb Road and 127th East, as more fully described in the attached resolution and shown on the attached maps. The City has not annexed the abutting portions of highway. Under state statute, if a city has annexed up to the side of a highway, but has not annexed the highway, the Board may send a notice to the city which includes the legal description of the highway and a map showing the location of the highway. Following receipt of the notice, the City governing body must certify the notice is correct and adopt an ordinance declaring the highway to be annexed into the city.
Alternatives: A) Approve the resolution and authorize the chairman to sign
B) Do not approve the resolution
C) Take any other action deemed appropriate
