Grant Summary and Timeline: Control of TB is a core public health function provided by the Health Department and mandated by State statute (See, Legal Considerations below). Employers, universities, detention centers, hospitals, nursing homes, homeless programs and physician offices refer all persons with positive TB skin test or blood test results, and those suspected of active TB, to the Sedgwick County Health Department. Persons exposed to known active TB cases are sought out and evaluated.
