Title

Agreement with the City of Derby to Administer Special Liquor Tax Funds.

Body

Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.

Background: For over 12 years, COMCARE has provided administrative support to the City of Wichita by managing their Special Liquor Tax funds. The City of Derby would also like COMCARE to manage their Special Liquor Tax funds by providing similar services, including:

- Request for Proposal Development;

- Performance Measurement and Improvement;

- Contract Administration; and

- Financial Management.

This is a new agreement with the City of Derby, though COMCARE has been providing these types of services for a number of years. It will be a new source of revenue for the organization.

Alternatives: Should this agreement not be approved, COMCARE will lose the additional revenue earned through this contract. Additionally, the City of Derby will have to find an alternate vendor to provide these services, who may or may not have the experience and expertise that COMCARE offers in these areas.

Financial Considerations:

Revenue: $4,500.00

Source: 31061-252

Term: 01/01/13-12/31/13

Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101 and a simple majority vote is required.

Policy Considerations: All Sedgwick County policies have been followed in the development of this contract.
