RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the agreements and authorize the Chairman to sign.

The County has had agreements with most of these contractors for over 13 years to provide services that promote accessibility, health and safety, job training and work for persons with physical disabilities. A total of 3,833 persons with physical disabilities were served in 2010.
Alternatives: Deny request.
Financial Considerations: These funds are included in the 2012 Budget adopted August 3, 2011. Funding recommendations were approved by the Aging Advisory Council on October 12, 2011. Fund Center: 35001-110 Physical Disabilities

Legal Considerations: Authority to enter into the contracts is provided by K.S.A. 19-101. Approval is by simple majority vote.
Policy Considerations: This action will benefit the well-being of persons with physical disabilities in Sedgwick County by helping them remain independent.
