Title
Approval to fill a supervisory/administrative specialist position held vacant  after a retirement.   Position #2000090.

Body
Recommended Action:  Approve.

For the past year our office has rotated employees into the customer service supervisor position since the retirement of the previous supervisor.  We plan to fill this position from within the office due to the complex nature of the position.  We have no intention of filling the position that will become vacant after the promotion takes place.

Financial Considerations:  This Administrative Specialist position was adopted as a position to be held vacant in the 2013 budget to meet departmental budget targets. As a result, although the budget included retaining the position, there was no budgeted funding as it was not planned to be filled. A fiscal associate position will be promoted to this position and that position will be held vacant in place of this position. Any cost increases related to the filling of the customer service supervisor position (administrative specialist, #2000090) will be covered within the Register of Deeds existing budget, primarily from expected salary savings to occur throughout the year.
