Recommended Action: Approve the signature authority and authorize the Chairman to sign.
The Sedgwick County Division on Aging is the administrator for the Sedgwick County Housing Authority effective January 1, 2015. This is a notarized affidavit which identifies persons by their names and titles and/or positions who have been authorized by the governing body to sign documents on behalf of the organization.
Alternatives: The Commission, as the governing body, could decide to sign all documents that are submitted for consideration or could allow staff to sign all documents.
Financial Considerations: N/A
Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 19-101, et seq. The affidavit has been reviewed and approved by the Office of the County Counselor. As it pertains to contracts and grant applications / agreements, this affidavit would only grant signature authority if the Board of County Commissioners has actually voted to approve the underlying contract or grant application / agreement. Approval is by simple majority vote.
