Recommended Action: Approve the lease agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.
This is a new combined lease between Wichita State University (WSU) and Sedgwick County for the National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT) and Wichita Area Technical College (WATC) facilities at 4004 N. Webb Road. This past legislative session, a new affiliation between WATC and WSU was approved. WSU has requested a new combined lease agreement to replace the two existing leases on the property.
This lease includes the Gateway Administrative Center, Building 100, comprising approximately 30,500 sq. ft.; Manufacturing Technical Center, Building 200, comprising approximately 79,387 sq. ft.; and the Aviation Service Center, Building 300, comprising approximately 112,665 sq. ft
Alternatives: No not approve the agreement.
Financial Considerations: No direct financial impact at this time.
Legal Considerations: The term of the lease shall commence on January 1, 2018 and expire on December 31, 2030.
