Approval of a sponsor agreement between the Board of County Commissioners and Wichita Festivals, Inc. for participation in the 2013 Wichita River Festival.

Recommended Action: Approve the Agreement and Authorize the Chairman to sign
The Wichita River Festival is nationally acclaimed and the largest special event in Kansas. Last year's event brought outstanding results for our community. This year the County will be a Senior Celebration Sponsor, enabling the Senior Gala and other Riverfest activities geared toward seniors.
Financial Considerations: $10,000 contribution. Funding will be allocated from the BoCC Contingency (77003-110) to the Culture & Recreation - Community Programs cost center (48001-110) for payment.
Legal Considerations: K.S.A. 19-101 provides authority for this action. A simple majority vote is required. This sponsorship has been entered into for several years. The terms and conditions of this agreement are substantially similar to prior agreements.
