ADDITION OF 4 PART-TIME POSITIONS TO THE AUTO LICENSE STAFFING TABLE.

Body
Due to the increased workload with the new Motor Vehicle System, more work has shifted to the counties. There are more than 6,000 records that didn't convert to the new system and current employees do not have the time to assist customers and re-create records. These 4 part-time employees will begin with the October registrations and will most likely be needed for all of 2012 and 2013.
Alternatives: Deny the request.
Financial Considerations: Budget impact statements for the remainder of 2012 and 2013 are attached. These positions will be funded from the Auto License Fund. The establishment of additional budget authority in the amount of $51,648 is requested to cover the additional costs to the 2013 budget. Additional budget authority is not needed for 2012.
