Grant Summary and Timeline:
The Kansas Department on Aging (KDOA) received an Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) grant from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Central Plains Area Agency on Aging (CPAAA) and Independent Living Resource Center have been designated as pilot sites to provide Options Counseling services in the Wichita area since 2006. The Options Counseling component outlined in this grant is an expansion of KDOAs existing project to test out the draft version of Kansas Options Counseling Standards in preparation for providing Options Counseling in all areas of the state.

CPAAA is seeking a part-time temporary Community Options Specialist (COS) position to fulfill the responsibilities of the grant. The temporary position will end on September 30.

KDOA will provide CPAAA $19,000 of funds to provide these services. The funds provided for the part-time COS position is $19,000. There is no state cash match requirement.

The contract year is March 1, 2012 to September 30, 2012.
