Reassign two full time positions to the Corrections staffing table.

Body

Recommended Action: Approve the additions to the Corrections staffing table within the General Fund.

[Enter Background Here]:  In 2010, the MacArthur Foundation granted Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC) funding to Sedgwick County to create 2.0 FTE positions: a juvenile justice education liaison and an innovation and advancement developer.  The juvenile justice education liaison works to strengthen and improve policies and practices related to educational success for youth in the juvenile justice system.  The innovation and advancement developer tackles difficult juvenile justice systemic and cross-systems issues.  Grant funding for both positions expire September 30, 2011.

This past summer, USD 259 provided summer school to JDF, JRF and JRBR residents at their cost.  Corrections would like to utilize a portion of the 2011 contractual summer school funding ($45,000) to support the personnel costs for these two positions between October 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011.
