Mr. Flaharty is being recommeded to fill the vacancy of District 3 Afton Township Trustee position, due to the resignation of Mr. Billy D. Riggs. This term will expire January 11, 2021. The recommendation is presented to the Board of County Commissioners for approval.

Financial Considerations: N/A
Legal Considerations: Pursuant to K.S.A. 25-1606, when a vacancy occurs for a township officer position, that vacancy is to be filled by the Board of County Commissioners. Pursuant to K.S.A. 80-201, the appointment would be for the remainder of the unexpired term. Approval is by simple majority vote.

Outside Attendees: Mr. Flaharty will not be in attendance to have the Oath of Office administered.
