Grant Summary and Timeline: Sedgwick County Emergency Management has received notification from the Kansas Division of Emergency Management about the availability of the annual Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Program.  The grant application must be submitted to the Kansas Department of Emergency Management by July 18, 2016. This grant provides funding to local government emergency management agencies.  The funding period for this grant is based on the calendar year beginning January 1, 2016, and ending December 31, 2016.  It is anticipated that Sedgwick County will receive $93,654.00, the same amount as in the 2015 award.  A portion of the grant in the amount of $74,696.00 pays the salary and benefits of the Emergency Management Planner, which is set up in fund center 11001-257.  The remainder of the funding or $18,958.00 reimburses the Sedgwick County General Fund for the costs associated with the operation of the Emergency Management Department, which are reflected in fund center 11005-110.  This funding helps offset the cost to the County of operating the Emergency Management related activities.
