Grant Summary and Timeline:  The Sedgwick County Department on Aging (SCDoA) has been the sponsor of the RSVP Volunteer Program since 2003.  SCDoA would like approval to accept this one-time technical assistance grant for program building and training.  The grant funds will be used for volunteer training for the Kansas Support Service for Elders (KSSE) program and to increase funding for the volunteer transportation program within Sedgwick County.

The SCDoA's acceptance of this grant will enhance KSSE program volunteers skills  and increase the number of skilled  transportation volunteers in Sedgwick County. These enhancements will result in increased services to seniors that enable them to remain in the community and avoid  hospitalization and nursing home placement.

Without this grant fund training and additional volunteer transportation services will be negatively impacted.
