Grant Summary and Timeline:

The Kansas Advisory Group (KAG) is seeking requests for Juvenile Accountability Block Grants Program (JABG) funded by allocations from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The KAG desires to address system reform that is within one of the eighteen purpose areas found in JABG. The Detention Hinge Project program purpose area falls under building, expanding, renovating, or operating temporary or permanent juvenile correctional, detention, or community facilities. These grants intend to implement or sustain funding for initiatives focused on juvenile systems reform proposed in the requests. Total funding on a one-time basis is $53,555.00 to be distributed among chosen grant application(s).  The Juvenile Accountability Block Grant Program requires a cash match equal to the total project cost divided by 9.   The funding for FY16/17 will be from April 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016. The JABG grant would fund the Detention Hinge Project to replace door hinges at the Juvenile Detention Facility that are obsolete and that have been used to attempt suicide.  The total grant amount being requested is $19,936, with a grant match of $2,492.   The Sedgwick County Juvenile Corrections Advisory Board (Team Justice) approved this funding application on December 4, 2015.  The grant application is due on or before December 30, 2015.
