Body

Background: The goal of this agreement with the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is to help provide the services needed to reduce trauma to child abuse victims and their family. Mental health counseling and treatment is an important component for achieving this goal. This agreement will fund one (1.0) FTE therapist position to provide specialized trauma-informed mental health services that are designed to meet the unique needs of child abuse victims and non-offending family members. Services shall include therapeutic processes addressing personal, family, or situational problems in order to bring about a positive resolution of the issue(s), and improve individual and family functioning. Coordination with other child serving systems will occur as needed to achieve the treatment goals. The therapist will be a qualified mental health professional licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board in the state of Kansas.

The contract details the terms of the agreement, including reporting on quarterly performance outcomes, financial documentation requirements, and documentation expectations for direct service hours.

Alternatives: This agreement is intended to aid the Child Advocacy Center in enhancing their services to help them support victims of child abuse and their families in Sedgwick County. This agreement offers an opportunity to increase cross-systems collaboration and improve services available to this vulnerable population. Without it, services will remain at the status quo.
