Grant Summary and Timeline:
Oral health is one of five priority areas identified through the Sedgwick County Community Health Improvement Plan. In order to exercise good oral health practices, individuals need access to toothbrushes, floss, and toothpaste; many people within the county don't have regular access to these items. Since 2010, DDKS has awarded 176,684 toothbrush kits to the Division of Health to distribute to adults and children living in Sedgwick County; a combined total value of ~$103,429.56.

If awarded, the Division of Health staff will collectively distribute the toothbrush kits to clients receiving program services. Toothbrush kits will also be disseminated to all students who take part in oral health education during National Children's Dental Health Month in Sedgwick County, throughout the school year, and during summer camps and other youth-oriented programs.
