One-time funding allocation to the West Sedgwick County Rotary Club - Sunrise for the Boundless Playscape.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the agreement.
In 2007 Sunrise Rotary Club (SRC) entered into an agreement with the County whereby a partnership was created that resulted in the development and opening of the Boundless Playscape at Sedgwick County Park. SRC provided the vision, planning, and fund raising necessary and the County provided the park land and adjacent accessible parking lot. Boundless Playscape is a unique park that features 70% of the playground equipment designed for children with disabilities, It has been a tremendously appreciated park by the entire community, both those with and without disabilities. In 2016, the SRC approached the County and received additional funding for a "Generation Swing" and construction documents. A subsequent request for 2017 funding has now been made, and the proposed agreement outlines an allocation of $30,000.
Alternatives: The County could elect to not provide the additional funding for the Boundless Playscape.
Financial Considerations: Upon invoice, the funding would be paid from the 2017 Sedgwick County Park General Fund budget after a transfer of budget authority from the Commission Contingency.
Legal Considerations: Approval of agreement requires simply majority vote pursuant to K.S.A. 19-101a.
