Title

Changes to the Division of Corrections Staffing Table.

Body

Recommended Action: Approve the changes to the Division of Corrections staffing table as outlined below.

With the transfer of the Work Release Program and the closure of the Sedgwick County Youth Program (SCYP), the Division of Corrections is requesting the following transfers and additions to the staffing table:

Transfer from 33015-253 to 33032-110  (3.65 FTE)

20000358  Adult Residential Center Administrator  (.25 FTE)

20002478  Senior Corrections Worker  (1.0 FTE)

20002987  Corrections Coordinator  (.40 FTE)

20002995  Corrections Worker  (1.0 FTE)

20003434  Assistant Corrections Shift Supervisor  (1.0 FTE)

Transfer from 33024-253 to 33032-110  (8 FTE)

20002476  Senior Corrections Worker  (1.0 FTE)

20002483  Corrections Worker  (1.0 FTE)

20002499  Intensive Supervision Officer I  (1.0 FTE)

20002988  Intensive Supervision Officer I  (1.0 FTE)

20002993  Corrections Worker  (1.0 FTE)

20002994  Corrections Worker  (1.0 FTE)

20002996  Corrections Worker  (1.0 FTE)

20002998  Corrections Worker  (1.0 FTE)

New Positions for 33032-110  (5 FTE)

Senior Corrections Worker (1.0 FTE)

Intensive Supervision Officer I (3.0 FTE)

Intensive Supervision Officer III (1.0 FTE)

Alternatives: Reject the request, which would hinder our ability to transfer custody of 100 inmates from the Sheriff's Office to the Division of Corrections.

Financial Considerations: These staffing table changes will require additional personnel budget authority in 33032-110 in the amount of $1,079,417, to be transferred from the Operating Reserve in 2018.

Legal Considerations: The action is authorized by K.S.A. 19-101.  A simple majority is required.

Policy Considerations:
