Recommended Action: Approve the One Year Contract Extension for EMPAC
Employee Assistance Consultants, Inc. (EMPAC) provides employee assistance services to County employees and their immediate family members. The original agreement with EMPAC was entered into on August 23, 2011, for an initial term of three (3) years, beginning January 2, 2012, with County having two (2) one-year options to renew. The County exercised both options, the current of which expires December 31, 2016. An extension of the original contract is necessary for calendar year 2017.
Alternatives:
Financial Considerations: The one year contract extension is at a rate of $0.73 cents per employee, not to exceed $26,900 for 2017. This cost is the same rate as 2016 and no additional budget authority is being requested.
Legal Considerations: Approval of this agreement may be made under KSA 19-101a by a simple majority vote.
