Recommended Action: Approve the One Year Contract for Superior Vision.
Superior Vision Services, Inc. provides a vision care plan/benefit and services program to Sedgwick County employees. The original contract with Superior Vision was entered into on January 1, 2012, and contained an initial term of four (4) years. Accordingly, the County’s current contract with Superior Vision expires on December 31, 2016, and now requires an extension through calendar year 2017.
Alternatives:
Financial Considerations: 2017 costs will be $9.97 for single coverage, $19.30 for two-person coverage, and $28.38 for family coverage; an increase of approximately 17.8 percent for each category from 2016 costs. Sedgwick County incurs no costs for this benefit and it is funded 100% by employees that opt-in to the plan.
