Recommended Action: Approve the CIP amendment.
The 2016 Capital Improvement Program included the design of 5 bridge projects. While the total funding committed to bridge design work in 2016 was sufficient to cover the total actual contractual amounts, the cost that was allocated for design three of the bridges was lower than needed and the cost of design of one bridge was higher than needed. A CIP Amendment is needed to reallocate the funds within the projects to cover the actual costs of all of the bridge designs.
Alternatives:
Financial Considerations: Sufficient funds are budgeted in B-489 to cover the shortfall in B-472, B-490 and B-491. This amendment will transfer $15,000 from B-489 (Cost Center 21505-231) to B-472 (Cost Center 21005-230).
Legal Considerations: The Board of County Commissioners is authorized to amend the Capital Improvement Program under K.S.A. 19-120.
