RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FUNDING TO THE WICHITA AREA TECHNICAL COLLEGE.

For the 2015 budget the County Manager recommended a $150,000 reduction to WATC. The Commission adopted a budget with an allocation to WATC of $743,000. During the budget hearing and with conversations with Commissioners it came to the Manager's attention that a majority of Commissioners wanted to increase the allocation to WATC by $50,000 to bringing the total allocation to $793,000. These funds are used to for operational expenses at WATC.
During the budget adoption the Manager failed to bring up the BOCC intent to increase funding. If the BOCC still desires to increase funding to WATC by $50,000, the Manager recommends that the BOCC pass a resolution authorizing the total expenditure to WATC be $793,000.
We have more than sufficient budget authority to implement this plan.
