Title
Agreement with Conmed, Inc. for medical services at the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility.

Body
Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign.

Conmed is the current vendor for these services with the County, dating back to 2005. The proposed agreement is for a term of three (3) years, with one (1) two-year option to renew. The proposed effective date is January 1, 2015.

The contract is essentially the same in scope as the County's current contract with Conmed, with a couple of minor changes which are detailed in the following paragraph. Under the proposed agreement, Conmed would continue to provide medical services that include, but are not limited to clinical services, professional physicians' services, medical testing, pharmaceutical services, dental services, and psychiatric and behavioral health services (which includes, but is not limited to the mental health pod).

There are two minor changes to the contract. First, this contract will include two (2) hours per week of non-emergency OB-GYN staffing, due to the increased needs for such services in the jail at a rate of $19,500.00 per year. Second, Conmed will provide and utilize its electronic medical records program under the proposed agreement at no additional cost to the County.
