Contract with the City of Goddard to provide Christmas tree recycling point for the citizens of Sedgwick County.

Recommended Action: Approve the agreement and authorize the Chair to sign.
Background: Sedgwick County has provided Christmas tree recycling sites since 2001. Currently there are 21 Christmas tree drop-off/recycling sites managed by Sedgwick County.
This is a new contract to add the City of Goddard to Sedgwick County's Christmas TreeCycle Program. The City of Goddard has approved this contract. Goddard has selected Means Park for their Christmas Tree Recycling location. Each year locations are provided for Sedgwick County residents to drop off their used Christmas trees to be ground into mulch. Sedgwick County will provide site set-up, Christmas tree grinding and mulch production for public use, and final site clean-up. The term of this contract shall be effective December 22, 2014 and shall expire January 23, 2016. The program is to run each year of this agreement from December 22 through January 23.

Legal Considerations: The authority for this action is K.S.A. 65-3401, et seq. A simple majority is required.
